The festival of light, Diwali, is back in Tameside as the BAPS Shri Swaminarayana Mandir in Ashton celebrates the auspicious occasion with prayers and celebrations on Thursday, October 31.
There will also be the commemoration of the Hindu New Year on November 2, with Pujas offered to Hindu Gods.
Located on Lees Road, the Mandir has seen a lot of members in the Hindu community visit the premises on the occasion of Diwali over the years.
On 31st October, there will be a fireworks display at the Mandir after pujas, which are prayers offered to commemorate the festival.
Alongside the festivities, there will also be hot food stalls and gift shops at the Mandir on the day, which will provide a wide array of Indian food.
The Hindu New Year celebration will be all day long with ‘Mandir Annakut Darshan’ starting at 11 AM and lasting till 7:00 PM in the evening.
