A 52-year-old man has been charged with burglary and a string of attempted burglaries in the Audenshaw area.
Geoffrey Heathcote, of Droylsden Road in Audenshaw, was charged in the early hours of Tuesday morning (30 March) with four counts of attempted burglary (which occurred in Audenshaw on 26 March) and three counts of vehicle interference (which happened in Tameside on 26 March).
Heathcote had been arrested and appeared at Tameside Magistrates' Court on Monday (29 March).
He had also been charged earlier that day with a burglary on North Road in Audenshaw, an attempted burglary on North Road and vehicle interference in Audenshaw - all on Sunday (28 March).
They followed an arrest on Saturday night after police received reports of a man 'acting suspiciously' in the Audenshaw area.
Inspector Lee Derbyshire, of Greater Manchester Police's Tameside team, said: "Following the three initial charges, Sergeant Goddard's team completed extensive further enquiries during Monday to enable the further arrest directly following Monday's court appearance, and the additional seven charges to be brought."
Heathcote was remanded in police custody to appear again at magistrates' court on Tuesday.
