The former Liberal Club on the corner of Stamford Street and Hamilton Street in Stalybridge could be converted into six one-bedroom apartments, if planners give the go-ahead.
The plan incorporates ground and first floor extensions, rooflights and associated alterations.
Planning permission presently exists for the conversion into two two-bed- room apartments and one one-bedroom apartments.
The former Lancashire Ward Liberal Club has been vacant for a considerable number of years.
The building is described as having a local distinctiveness which the developers say would be retained.
