Liverpool Collegiate vs Oldham 

 

Oldham get their season under way on Saturday as they travel to Liverpool to face the Collegiate side. It’s a new side for Oldham to face as the Merseyside team were promoted last season and they will be keen to make a name for themselves in a new division. Oldham are in the hunt for the title this year after falling agonisingly close last season.

 

Liverpool St Helens (LSH) vs Aldwinians

 

Aldwinians face a tough opening day fixture away in Liverpool St Helens as the Audenshaw based team look to improve on a quiet season last time out. Aldwinians started their season in the cup at the end of August and were on the end of a 43-14 thrashing away at Eccles RFC. LSH will be hoping to push on after a steady campaign which saw them finish 5thand firmly one of the better teams in the division. Liverpool also did the double over Aldwinians last season so they will have their work cut out.

Burnley vs Ashton Under Lyne

 

Ashton Under Lyne have a tricky fixture to kick-off their season as they travel to Burnley. Ashton had a disappointing campaign last season after finishing a dismal 8thand also 25 points behind their opponents Burnley. Ashton will be buoyed by their opening game of the season in the cup as they progressed in the first round by beating Clitheroe away by a score line of 10-23.

 

Tyldesely vs Dukinfield 

 

Dukinfield start life in a new division as they compete in the ADM 1STDivision after achieving promotion. They face a very tough game against a Tyldesely side who were relegated from the premier division last season and will be keen to bounce straight back up. Dukinfield are also through in the cup after they beat Ellesmere Port 17-10 at home last weekend.
