WATCH: Manchester United Women's Star Drops Into Great Academy

With Euro 2022 just around the corner, England midfielder Ella Toone dropped into Great Academy Ashton to inspire the next generation of female footballers.

Organised by the Tameside School Sports Partnership, the 22-year-old Manchester United player, who has become a fans' favourite with her standout displays, took part in a Q&A session and handed out United shirts to a few lucky pupils.

Ella has recently been selected as part of the England Women's provisional squad ahead of Euro 2022 in July.

We spoke to her about the reasons behind her visit, how it felt to have her face on Old Trafford as part of an advertising campaign, her future hopes and ambitions, plus much more.

We also spoke to Yasmeen Zaman, a student at the school, about the importance of such visits in terms of increasing female participation in sport, and the impact the Tameside School Sports Partnership is having on sport in the borough.
