Tuesday Football Roundup

Stalybridge Celtic, Glossop North End and Ashton United were in cup and league action on Tuesday night.

Celtic hosted Vauxhall Motors in the Cheshire Senior Cup second round and were beaten 1-0. Karl Noon's penalty in the 71st minute was the difference between the sides. Vauxhall have been rewarded with a home tie in the next round against Hyde United.

Meanwhile, in the BetVictor Premier Division, Ashton United had to settle for a 1-1 draw at Radcliffe.

Liam Tomsett put the Robins ahead in the 11th minute, only for Darren McKnight to level matters for the hosts in the 36th minute.

Ashton are now three games unbeaten and will be hoping to extend that run against Lancaster City at Hurst Cross on Saturday.

And in the BetVictor South East, Glossop North End salvaged a 1-1 draw against Worksop Town at Surrey Street.

Steven McDonnell put the visitors ahead in the 63rd minute, but Porya Ahmadi rescued a point for the Hillmen in the 82nd minute from the penalty spot.
