TSOG's success continues

It was a hugely successful weekend for Tameside School of Gymnastics (TSOG) at the North West Performance Grades competition, with the club’s elite girls delivering exceptional performances across the board.

Performance Grades competitions take place annually and are designed to assess gymnasts across five key areas: the four traditional apparatus - floor, vault, bars and beam - alongside range and conditioning, which evaluates a series of strength, flexibility and control elements.

Representing TSOG’s elite squad were Mollie Fish, Sophia Vance, and Emily Hand, all of whom showcased their hard work, dedication, and determination, with smiles all around throughout the competition.

Emily Hand competed in Performance Grade 1 and delivered a fantastic performance to finish 4th overall in the North West.

Her impressive result has earned her a place on Team North West for the upcoming National Finals.

Emily also secured 3rd place on both bars and floor, highlighting her strength across multiple apparatus.

Mollie Fish competed in Performance Grade 3 and narrowly missed out on the top spot, finishing 2nd all-around by less than 0.1 - an incredible achievement, especially considering the gymnast who took first place was 17, while Mollie has only just turned 12.

Mollie excelled across the competition, placing 1st on bars, 3rd on beam, and 2nd on range and conditioning.

Sophia Vance competed in Performance Grade 4 and, despite a few unfortunate falls, showed resilience and determination to finish 4th overall.

She also achieved an excellent 2nd place on range and conditioning, demonstrating her strength and physical capability.

Both Mollie and Sophia have also secured places on the North West team for the National Finals in May. Remarkably, this will be their third consecutive year qualifying for the national stage - a testament to their consistency and commitment.

To have three gymnasts competing at this level, and all three qualifying for national finals, is a significant achievement not only for each individual gymnast but also for the club as a whole.

The coaches at TSOG expressed immense pride in their gymnasts, praising their dedication, positive attitudes, and outstanding performances across the weekend.

This success marks another milestone for TSOG, reinforcing its reputation for developing talented, hardworking gymnasts and supporting them to achieve at the highest levels.
