Tigers sign talented defender

Hyde United have announced the signing of former football league defender Festus Arthur.

The German born centre back started his professional career at Stockport County, making 31 appearances before moving to Championship side Hull City for an undisclosed fee.

Loan moves to Barrow and FC Halifax soon followed before a permanent move to the Yorkshire side in 2023.

Arthur became a fan favourite at the Shay, before spending last season on loan at National League North side Southport.

Speaking on the signing, Tigers boss Nick Spooner commented:

"Festus has been training with us, he's had his injury problems over the last season or so, so now we're giving him a platform to get some minutes - he's a leader who will help us massively.''
