Tameside 5k Festival returns for 2026

Photo: Jon-Paul Kearns

This weekend sees the return of the popular Tameside 5k Festival, which now enters its fourth edition.

The event, which takes place on Saturday March 7, sees Active Tameside and the Local Runners Podcast team up once again to bring you one of the most exciting local races around.

The event will see runners tackle just over five laps of the flat, traffic free course in Ashton-under-Lyne.

As was the case last year, runners will be grouped across four separate races depending on their 5k times, meaning all abilities are welcome.

The day will also feature a ‘Family Mile’, which allows children aged 12 and below to take part in a shorter race with their parent or guardian/s.
