Stalybridge Celtic complete signing of striker Matty Bryan

Bower Fold, Stalybridge Celtic

The forward joins the club from Wythenshawe Town, where he worked with current Celtic manager, James Kinsey, and scored 67 goals in 98 games for the club.

A short stint at Cheadle Town saw the forward score seven goals in 10 games.

Matty is from Tameside and would often watch Celtic from the terraces when he was younger. After joining the club, Matty said: “I’m so excited! I’m from the area and know what a big club Bridge is.

“It’s a great challenge to help the club get back up with a manager and assistant that I know really well.

“I’m looking forward to being here, meeting the fans and getting the season started!”

Manager James Kinsey was delighted to have secured a proven goal scorer, he said: “Matty is somebody that we know and trust having worked with him for a number of years at Wythenshawe.

“He’s a proven goal scorer and has always had teams from higher divisions chasing him but he hasn’t been able to commit due to running his own business. He had similar work priorities with us at Wythenshawe last season where he had to move to play his football elsewhere to cater for his work life, but he’s got this side of things in order now and we’re so lucky to have him with us.

“He works harder than any centre forward I know, and I’m certain that he will bring goals to the club.”
