Robins run riot in pre-season friendly

Ashton United have confirmed the signing of promising midfielder Harvey Macadam ahead of the 2020/21 season.

Of the signing, Ashton manager Michael Clegg said: “Harvey just has bags of potential. We have seen this last season when he came in from Nelson. Andy Harrison has done a terrific job with this young man and now it's up to us to continue his progression.

"He has had an ankle injury over the last few months but he has done all his rehab really well and I'm looking forward to seeing him back on the pitch. Harvey is very athletic, aggressive and more than capable of having a big impact on our season.”

Ashton kicked off their pre-season campaign with a comprehensive 3-0 victory at Euxton Villa.

The Robins return to pre-season action this weekend with a trip to Rylands FC, who have recently been renamed to Warrington Rylands 1906 FC. They will be competing in the North West Counties Premier Division.
