Right Said Fred: Talking Betting With BetFred Boss Fred Done

What a fantastic response it was from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his players in United’s 3-1 win over Everton last weekend.

After back-to-back losses to Arsenal and Istanbul, and with the Reds sitting dangerously close to the relegation zone in the Premier League, the pressure was well and truly on – and thankfully, we delivered.

Bruno Fernandes in particular was sensational, as he has been ever since his arrival in January, and it was great to see Edinson Cavani get on the scoresheet.

Hopefully that’s the first of many goals for the Uruguayan in a red shirt – but the absolute main thing is that we picked up a much-needed three points, at a time when many were calling for Solskjaer’s head.

We’re now of course on an international break, and it’s vital we return in tip-top form and pick up our first home victory this season when West Brom come calling on November 21.

United remain as big as 33/1 at Betfred to win the title, which dare I say is rather tempting, providing we kick on from the Everton win and show what we’re truly capable of, in what is proving to be a very unpredictable season.

Meanwhile, there’s nothing splitting Liverpool and City as joint 13/8 favourites at the top of the market after their stalemate at the Etihad last Sunday.

It was an even yet entertaining battle – one the current champions will no doubt have come out of happier given Kevin De Bruyne’s missed penalty and the fact that they remain five points clear of the Blues.

Next in the betting is Tottenham, who have shortened to 7/1 after a string of good results, and Chelsea at 8/1 – while Leicester and Arsenal are either side of United at 28/1 and 50/1 respectively.

As I mentioned earlier it’s the international break this week and we have Nations League action to enjoy, as England take on Belgium on Sunday and Iceland the Wednesday after.

Gareth Southgate and co are 15/8 to beat Belgium, who are 11/8 favourites at Betfred – while it’s 23/10 the draw.

It will be interesting to see how they get on without the likes of Marcus Rashford and Trent Alexander-Arnold through injury against the 4/1 second favourites to win the entire competition.

France are the 7/2 favourites at Betfred, with Spain 11/2, Portugal 6/1 – and England 7/1 alongside Italy.

Finally, I can’t wait for the Betfred Super League play-offs which begin tonight after the regular season was cut short due to COVID disruption.

First of all, my congratulations to Wigan Warriors who have won the League Leaders’ Shield on the new win percentage system.

They, along with St Helens, have been granted automatic spots in the semi-finals, while Warrington Wolves, Hull FC, Catalans Dragons and Leeds Rhinos battle for the other two spots.

Warrington are 4/11 favourites to beat Hull FC in the first of those play-offs this evening – while Leeds Rhinos are slight 10/11 favourites to triumph over Catalans Dragons (EVS) in Friday’s tie.

From the two winners, the lowest-placed in the table will take on Wigan on November 19, while the highest-placed winner will face Saints the day after.

Saints are 6/4 favourites to retain the Betfred Super League title by winning the Grand Final at the KCOM Stadium on November 27.

Wigan are 13/8 second favourites, ahead of Warrington at 5/1, Catalans and Leeds both 12/1 – while Hull FC are the rank outsiders at 20/1.
