Reilly returns to GNE

Following a contract termination at his previous club, Bootle, Glossop North End have re-signed forward Lewis Reilly, who spent the first part of this season on loan at the Hillmen.

The 25-year-old impressed in his short spell with the club, scoring a number of important goals before being recalled by his parent club.

But the former Crewe Alexandra man is back at the Asgard Engineering Stadium after agreeing a deal to stay with the club until the end of the season.

After Reilly’s signing was confirmed, Glossop North End manager Richard Brodie said:

“I’m delighted to welcome Lewis Back to Glossop North End.

“My favourite saying in football is ‘you are only as good as your number 9’ and we have signed one of the best in the business, it’s as simple as that.

“Lewis’ record speaks for itself, and he ticks every box on the pitch. In addition to this, off the pitch his character and personality within the dressing room is infectious.

“When we added him back to the players’ chat, the responses spoke volumes about the regard he’s held in- I'm thrilled to have him back.”
