Glossop North End were agonisingly close to making it back-to-back wins on Tuesday night, but a late fightback from visitors Burscough saw the points shared at Surrey Street.
Lee Wilshaw’s men stormed into a 2-0 lead early on, but a dramatic end saw the away side draw level and GNE finish the match with nine men.
After his brace in Saturday’s 3-1 win over Cheadle Town, Ethan Sutcliffe grabbed the headlines once again, smashing in Glossop’s second following Alex Bowker’s opener before being given his marching orders after the interval.
Sutcliffe’s dismissal gave the visitors a route back into the game, with Stephen Rigby scoring directly from a corner to halve the deficit just past the hour before captain Olly Parker was also sent for an early bath for a second bookable offence.
With the home side holding on, Burscough’s pressure finally told, as Christian Mukoko drove home the leveller four minutes from time.
