Midweek Football Review

It was a night to forget for our local sides on Tuesday.

In the National League North, Curzon Ashton fell to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Blyth Spartans. Will McGowan scored both goals for the visitors in the third and 79th minute. The Nash return to action this weekend with a home clash against AFC Telford Utd.

Meanwhile, in the NPL Premier Division, Hyde United's quest for the league title took a slight hit with a surprise defeat to Lancaster City. The Dolly Blues, who entered the game in 18th spot, pulled off a 2-1 win at the high-flying Tigers. After falling two goals behind in the fixture, Jack Redshaw pulled one back in the 53rd minute, but it proved insignificant as the hosts couldn't find an equaliser. Hyde continue with league action this weekend with a trip to Marine.
