Stalybridge Celtic boss Jon Macken has been named as September’s Step 4 Manager of the Month.

The stellar month saw Celtic win three out of their three league matches, defeating Trafford, Darlaston Town and Sporting Khalsa, and scoring a whopping 13 goals in the process.

September also saw Macken’s side progress in the FA Trophy with another win over Trafford before a narrow FA Cup defeat to National League North side Chester.

Over 2,000 votes were cast for this award, with the 48-year-old taking home more than half of those.

He defeats Craig Elliott of Bradford (Park Avenue), Bury's Dave McNabb and Rugby Borough manager Dave Stringer, who were also shortlisted.
