Hyde progress in Cheshire Senior Cup

Hyde United have progressed to the next round of the Cheshire Senior Cup after beating Winsford United 4-2 on Monday.

The Tigers entered the game having lost three consecutive league fixtures but took a two-goal lead by the 25th minute thanks to Brad Roscoe and Jack Dyche.

Nathan Cotterell pulled one back for the hosts three minutes later, but Hyde reasserted their two goal advantage in the 51st minute thanks to Tom Pratt.

To their credit the hosts, who compete two divisions below Hyde, battled to find another goal and were rewarded in the 72nd minute. Sam Madeley converted a penalty, but it mattered little as Hyde seal the deal in the final minute through Ashley Young.

Dave McGurk's side have been rewarded with a tie in the next round at the winner of Stalybridge Celtic and Vauxhall Motors, who are scheduled to play this evening at Bower Fold.
