Glossop North End Community Club are celebrating having recently been named ‘Club of the Year’ at the Derbyshire FA Grassroots Football Awards, held at Pride Park Stadium.
The awards evening recognised the outstanding contribution of clubs, coaches, volunteers, referees and participants from across the county who help make grassroots football such a vital part of local communities.
This award reflects the dedication and commitment of everyone involved with the club, from volunteers and coaches to players, parents, sponsors and supporters.
Over recent years, the club has continued to grow both on and off the pitch, creating opportunities for more people to belong, develop and achieve through football and wider community activities.
The award comes as the club has also released its latest Social Impact Report, showcasing the positive difference being made across Glossop and the High Peak.
The report highlights how the club supports people of all ages through football, education, health and wellbeing programmes, volunteering opportunities and community engagement initiatives, demonstrating the impact the club delivers far beyond the touchline.

Receiving the award is recognition not only of footballing success, but also of the club’s commitment to strengthening its community, creating opportunities for people of all backgrounds and providing a welcoming environment where everyone can thrive.
Club Chairman Ben Mills said: “We’re incredibly proud to receive this award and to be recognised alongside so many fantastic clubs, coaches and volunteers from across Derbyshire.
There were some truly inspiring people in the room and everyone involved in grassroots football deserves enormous credit for what they do.
While it’s important to take a moment to celebrate this achievement, we’re already looking ahead. We want to continue developing our facilities, improving our programmes and creating even more opportunities for people in our community to get involved, enjoy football and reach their potential.
This award belongs to everyone connected with the club, and we’re grateful for the support that allows us to keep moving forward and striving to be the best we can be. As the club continues to grow, this recognition provides further motivation to build on the strong foundations already in place.
From now providing a girls’ pathway at every age group, to expanding our pan-disability provision with two teams now regularly playing competitive fixtures and supporting more players than ever before through a six-team open age section, the club remains committed to creating opportunities for everyone in our community.
The Club of the Year award and the publication of the Social Impact Report together reinforce the positive difference football can make beyond the game itself, bringing people together, creating opportunities and strengthening communities across Glossop and the High Peak.
The club would like to thank Derbyshire FA for this recognition and congratulate all of the finalists and winners who were celebrated during the evening.
Most importantly, thank you to every player, volunteer, coach, parent, supporter, sponsor and partner who contributes to the continued success of Glossop North End Community Club.”
