Ekpolo gets star man award

Prince Ekpolo has been named Glossop North End's Player of the Month for September.

The Nigerian midfielder played every minute of the Hillmen's six matches in all competitions during the month.

Although the team won only one of those games, losing three and drawing the other two, the 26-year-old impressed enough to earn the award.

Ekpolo was presented with his prize - a case of beer courtesy of the Northern Premier League's official cask beer sponsors Bowland Brewery - by joint-manager Pete Lloyd at training on Thursday evening.

He follows in the footsteps of Jack Tuohy, who was the Hillmen's star player in August.
