Droylsden issue plea after recent crowd troubles

Droylsden FC have issued a strong warning to supporters after the club was charged by the FA concerning items being thrown onto the pitch.

The incident – which the club have reiterated is not the first of its kind – occurred during The Bloods’ Manchester Premier Cup semi-final win at Ashton United earlier this month.

According to the referee’s report, items were thrown onto the field during the match, prompting disciplinary action from the FA.

Droylsden have warned that further acts of this nature could lead to fines or potentially worse sanctions, including being forced to play matches behind closed doors.

A club statement released on Monday read:

“The Club is very disappointed that once again this season we have been charged by the FA concerning items thrown onto the pitch during a game.

The latest incident, reported by the referee, occurred during the first half of the Manchester Cup Semi Final tie against Ashton United on the 24th March 2026.

The Club will not tolerate this behaviour either at home or away, and given that this is not the first occasion this has happened this season, we will now be facing a fine or potentially worse sanctions, which may include playing games behind closed doors.

To those who are continuing this behaviour, we send this simple message:

Your actions are bringing the reputation of this club into disrepute, and potentially preventing fans from watching the Bloods going forward.

We have instructed our Stewards that any persons seen throwing objects onto the pitch will be immediately ejected from the ground, and will face an immediate ban from future games and the ground.”

Dave Pace’s side return to action on Tuesday night when they welcome Garstang to the Butcher’s Arms.
