Curzon prepare for Youth Cup tie

Curzon Ashton Youth Team are preparing for an FA Cup first round tie against Blackpool.

The Nash have negotiated three rounds to reach this stage of the competition, cruising to an 11-1 victory against Vauxhall Motors, beating Marine 7-3, and finally securing a 3-1 victory at Guiseley.

Due to their position in the pyramid, Blackpool enter the competition at this stage and will be favourites to beat the Nash. However, given home advantage and their threat front of goal, which includes 21 goals in their previous three games, Curzon could well produce a shock on Tuesday.

Other teams to have progressed to the first round include Hartlepool United, who beat Stockport County 6-0 in the previous round, as well as Notts County and Chester, who beat Basford United 5-0 and Athersley Recreation FC 8-2 respectively.

As well as their success in the FA Cup, Curzon have also impressed in league competition and currently sit at the top of the table, having won five and drawn one in the North West Youth Alliance Premier Division.

The Nash are scheduled to return to league action on Sunday, November 10 at Stockport County, who currently sit fifth in the table.
