Curzon Ashton have confirmed the signing of talented midfielder Ruben Curley, who joins on loan from Championship side Stoke City.

The 20-year-old – who is the son of former Nash player Chris Curley – will remain at the Tameside Stadium until the end of the season.

Curley joined Stoke last February following a 13-year spell in Manchester United’s Academy, and has been included in The Potters’ matchday squad on 8 occasions this term.

During his time at United, Curley helped the under 18’s side secure a league and cup double in 23/24, winning the scholar of the year award in the process.

The central midfielder made his Curzon debut on Saturday, in a 3-1 win over Worksop Town.

Following his signing, Nash assistant head coach Jack Salkeld told the Reporter:

“Ruben brings a lot of energy to the team.

“He has a great eye for a pass and is always looking to play forward as quickly as possible.

“Saturday was his first experience in men’s football, but he’s been involved with Stoke’s first team and has been at United all his life.

“That shows he has what it takes to step up to the challenge.

“He’ll bring something different—something the others haven’t.”
