Curzon discover FA Trophy opponents

The only Tameside club left in this year’s FA Trophy have discovered their second-round opponents.

Curzon Ashton, who enter the competition at this stage due to their National League North status, will take on NPL Premier side Ilkeston Town away from home.

After narrowly missing out on the play-offs last season, the Derbyshire based Robins have made a reasonable start to their 2025/26 campaign, sitting in 10th after 14 games.

On their way to the second round, they saw off Southern League side St Ives Town.

As for Curzon, they will be looking to go a step further this time around, having exited the competition at this stage last season after a penalty shootout defeat to Macclesfield.

Should The Nash see off their lower league opposition, they will be five wins away from following in the footsteps of fellow Tameside Club Mossley, who reached the final back in 1980.

Their second round tie is set to take place on Saturday November 15, with the final being played on Sunday May 17.
