Hyde United have confirmed the loan signing of FC United winger Dontai Gabbidon.

The forward - who made his Tigers debut in Tuesday night's draw at Lancaster - joins Clegg’s side following a short loan spell with fellow Tameside club Stalybridge Celtic, where he made seven appearances, and will remain until the end of the season.

This comes after the club also announced the return of talented defender Scott Duxbury, who joins on another short-term loan from Bury, along with goalkeeper Yusuf Mersin, whose loan at Runcorn Linnets was cut short.

To make way for the incomings, Hyde have also announced the departures of several first team players.

Jordan Fagbola, Nyal Bell and Mo Malumo have all been released, while Lewis Thompson has taken up an offer to play football in New Zealand.

Elsewhere, Ayo Quadri has joined North West Counties Premier leaders Wythenshawe FC on dual registration.

Following the departures, Clegg commented:

”With the situation we are in, we need to freshen things up and try and free up some money to get players in.

“In Ayo’s case he hasn’t had a lot of football, he’s still part of my plans but we need him to get minutes, so we have sent him to Wythenshawe.”
