Ashton and Stalybridge to meet in League Cup

Ashton United will host local rivals Stalybridge Celtic in the pick of the Integro League Cup first-round ties involving our teams.

The Robins will welcome Celtic to Hurst Cross on Tuesday 17 September, hoping to exact revenge for the sides' league meeting on Bank Holiday Monday when goals from Scott Bakkor and Craig Hobson earned a 2-0 win for Stalybridge.

Meanwhile, on the same evening, Glossop North End will travel to Broadhurst Park to face FC United of Manchester.

Monday's draw also confirmed that Droylsden will travel to Radcliffe Borough and Mossley will make the trip to Merseyside to take on City of Liverpool.

Hyde United, along with holders Trafford FC, have received a bye to the second round.

There will be no replays in the first round, so if ties are level after 90 minutes, there will be penalties to determine which team will progress.
