A man has been charged following an assault in which a police officer was injured outside a pub in Failsworth on Friday evening.
Harry Hesketh (21), of Plane Road, Failsworth, has been charged with Grievous Bodily Harm, affray and possession of a class A substance.
He has been remanded in custody and was due to appear at Tameside Magistrates’ Court today (Monday, November 3).
These charges relate to an incident on Friday, October 31, 2025, where an officer was injured while trying to de-escalate an altercation on Oldham Road.
Officers are appealing for anyone with information regarding the above incident to contact police on 101 quoting log 4135 of 31/10/25.
A licensed premises was given an initial closure notice of 48 hours, pending a court hearing at Tameside Magistrates’ Court today in relation to this incident.
