A local charity is all set to stage a glamourous Ladies Day event at the chic Billingtons Ballroom in Oldham.
Pennine Mencap on Union Street supports and provides opportunities to neurodivergent adults across Greater Manchester.
The forthcoming Ladies Day event is the first of its kind for the charity and will be running from 2pm-6pm on Saturday, May16. It is themed on the glamorous Ladies Day held at the races.
Guests will get to enjoy a refined afternoon tea experience and on offer will be traditional sweet and savoury treats. Attendees will have the chance to look around an array of stalls stationed at the ballroom. Talented stallholders will sell their unique crafted goods to satisfy those “treat yourself” moments.
Captivating live entertainment is a central element for the Ladies Day, with the event providing an outlet for gifted creatives to be enjoyed by guests including a live cello performance.

It’s an all-too-common occurrence to own a dazzling frock that’s been abandoned in a wardrobe with no proper occasion to don it. Ladies Day offers a solution at just £25 per ticket, inviting attendees to wear those pieces and accessories with elegant fascinators just like a day at the races.
A spokesperson for Pennione Mencap said: “Have any girlfriends you want to bring together for a memorable afternoon? This day of joy offers not only a needed catch up with them but contributes to the valuable work of the charity, assisting vulnerable disabled adults in our community.”
