Police are investigating a robbery in which a man and a 12-year-old child suffered superficial injuries after three men brandishing swords broke into their property.
The suspects entered the house through the back door on Birch Avenue at around 6pm on Monday, January 26 and demanded cash.
They fled with about £90 and the man, who was in the house with the 12-year-old boy, suffered superficial injuries.
Detective Constable Anna Pun, of Oldham CID, said: “This was a frightening incident, and we are hoping, given the time of day, that someone may have seen something to help us catch the perpetrators.
"The three men were all wearing dark clothing with their hoods up, black face coverings and all wearing gloves. Two were carrying swords and one had a sledge hammer.
“We have carried out extensive enquiries in the area and are now appealing to any members of the public who might have any information about this incident.
“We are still investigating a possible motive for this incident and believe it might have been a case of mistaken identity.”
