Hospice is asking businesses to join collection tin appeal

An Oldham hospice is appealing to local businesses, bars, pubs and restaurants to help raise vital funds for its patient care through a collection tin appeal. 

Dr Kershaw's Hospice has seen a significant drop in fundraising income as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

It is calling on local businesses to support the hospice by collecting loose change on its behalf. 

The hospice, based on Turf Lane in Royton, serves a population of over 200,000 people from Oldham and its surrounding districts. It provides free, specialist, palliative and end-of-life care for adults within the community; through their in-patient unit and in patients’ own homes via their Caring Hands and Hospice at Home services.

In order to deliver this vital care within the community, Dr Kershaw's needs to raise £3.6 million every year.

Any local businesses who wish to support the hospice in its collection tin appeal are asked to contact the fundraising team on 0161 624 9984, so their collection tin can be allocated and picked up from the hospice reception.

Support from local businesses and the community is vital, and will help a patient to spend their last days in our care, giving them time with their loved ones, to create precious forever-memories, pain-free, in comfort and with dignity."
