Failsworth Poppy Appeal needs you

Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer can get in contact with the Failsworth Poppy Appeal 2026.

The 2026 Poppy Appeal is fast approaching and the Failsworth Royal British Legion is determined to make this year’s appeal bigger, better and more successful than ever.

Last year, the committee members along with the local community rallied round to raise an incredible £25,000 for the Poppy Appeal but this year, the team want to go even further and are appealing for more volunteers.

Demand for poppy stands across Failsworth, and the surrounding area continues to grow, while resources remain limited.

With the closure of several other local RBL branches, the Failsworth branch is expected to be even busier this year, with more demands being placed on them and their volunteers.

Anyone who can spare a few hours a day, a weekend, or simply want to get involved or help are encouraged to get in touch.

Volunteering isn’t just about collecting donations. It’s about being part of something important — meeting people, connecting with the community, remembering those who served, and helping ensure that the sacrifices of past and present generations are never forgotten.

If you’d like to find out more about volunteering contact Failsworth RBL directly or visit their next Open Committee Meeting at Nelson Tavern Pub – RBL HQ on Sunday, September 27 at 11am, with a hearty pub brunch at 12pm.
