Dementia Hub Invites Residents

Dementia hub for South Asian community.

Do you have any concerns about memory? Are you living with dementia or supporting someone who has dementia? Then look no further...

Fatima Women’s Association on Marlborough Street, Glodwick, invites local men and women, who have been affected by the condition, to attend its next session on April 24, from 11am-1pm.

Dementia, according to The Alzheimer’s Research UK, is not something that just happens to everyone as they get older.

It is caused by different diseases, and it affects various parts of the brain. In the UK, almost one million people are affected by the neurological disorder - caused by a decline in mental ability that is severe enough to affect daily life.

Some people may be more likely to develop dementia than others, including those who have had a stroke, diabetes, high blood pressure, cholesterol, and depression.

The South Asian community is seeing a faster rise in the number of people diagnosed with dementia than the general population.

Anyone affected by dementia can attend the session every last Thursday of the month from 11am-1pm.

For more details about the South Asian dementia hub contact Shabana on 0161 627 3109/ 07877469560 for the hub schedule.
