Local author Jessica Jones has released What A Braidy Adventure, a heartfelt and deeply personal book exploring friendship, grief, cherished memories, and the importance of talking openly about mental health.
Published independently, the 100-page paperback tells the story of Jessica’s close friendship with Pete and the lasting impact one person can have on another's life. A timely release on the run up to World Mental Health Day - Saturday 10th October.
Written from the heart, What A Braidy Adventure reflects on the joys of friendship, the challenges of loss, and the journey of learning how to carry the memory of a loved one forward. The book also highlights the importance of men's mental health, encouraging open conversations and reminding readers that seeking support is a sign of strength, not weakness. All funds raised from the sale of the book will be donated to local mental health and suicide prevention charity, The Anthony Seddon Fund.
"Sometimes the people we lose never really leave us," says Jessica Jones. "They live on in our memories, in the stories we tell, and in the way they continue to influence our lives." This deeply personal book is an invitation for readers to reflect on their own friendships, cherish the people around them, and remember the value of simply asking someone how they are doing.
Through humour, honesty, and personal reflection, Jessica honours Pete's legacy while offering readers a powerful message about resilience, connection, and the value of checking in on those we care about.
