Police are continuing to investigate after a teenager was stabbed in Tameside on New Year's Day.
Police attended Oldham Road in Ashton at 6pm after the attack was reported.
A 17-year-old boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
At this stage, no arrests have been made but an investigation is underway.
Det Sgtt Steve Carroll from Tameside division said: “Our investigation is in the early stages but we are following several lines of enquiry to establish the timeline of events which led to this male being injured tonight.
“We have deployed additional officers to the area whilst we conduct further enquiries, if you have any concerns or some information you would like to share, please do not hesitate to speak to them. No matter how small the information may seem, it could be crucial to our investigation.
“We are urging anyone who was in the area this evening, or has any information that will assist our enquiries, comes forward and speak with police by either speaking to local officers in the area or by calling 0161 856 9262 or online on gmp.police.uk.”
