Indian restaurant scoops top honour at Curry Awards

An Ashton indian restaurant proved it was hot stuff when it won a major award.

The Purple Olive, on Stamford Street East, was named Asian Restaurant of the Year at the Asian Curry Awards 2024 in London.

A restaurant spokesman said: "This incredible achievement would not have been possible without the unwavering support of so many of our amazing customers thank you for believing in us, for your continued loyalty, and for allowing us to serve you.

"For our hardworking team this award is a testament to your dedication, passion, and relentless commitment to excellence, this win is as much yours as it is ours.

"This moment is not just about winning; it’s about celebrating the journey, the late nights, the passion for fine Indian excellence, and the dream of making Purple Olive Ashton a place people love and remember."

Chairman of the Asian Catering Federation Yawar Khan said: “We’re delighted by the number of people who have taken the time to vote for their favourite restaurant this year.

"The standard of finalists was exceptional and we also have some excellent newcomers on the list which is great news for the industry as it continues to flourish in today’s challenging economic climate.”
