Free parking in Tameside this December

This December free parking will be on offer in towns across Tameside every Saturday.

The free parking aims to support local traders and retailers across the borough and encourage local residents to shop locally as much as possible.

Available 7, 14 and 21 December, for a maximum of three hours at selected Council operated Car Parks the council is hoping to give a boost to the many brilliant independent businesses across the borough.

Cllr Stephen Homer, Executive Member (Towns, Transport and Connectivity) said: “We are offering free parking on Saturdays during December to support both out local traders and retailers and residents alike. We really want to encourage visitors from across Tameside and beyond to come into our towns, support local businesses and enjoy the festive season.”

“All our Elected Members will be pledging to shop local this Christmas in Tameside and I would encourage everyone to take advantage of the free parking on offer and visit your local high street.”
