Adamsons, a Dukinfield-based home transformation specialist, has donated hundreds of pounds worth of essential kitchen equipment to Cracking Good Food as part of its Kitchen Kit Call Out initiative.
The initiative redistributes much-needed kitchen kits to individuals and families in some of the region's most financially deprived and marginalised communities.
Since its launch in 2010, Cracking Good Food has been dedicated to encouraging and supporting people to cook affordable, seasonal, and nutritious food from scratch.
Driven by the belief that everyone deserves access to good food, the charity’s mission is to alleviate food and fuel poverty, while promoting food sustainability across Greater Manchester.
The team at Adamsons, along with its customers, provided a range of high-quality kitchen items to the charity, including a Magimix food processor, plates, cups, mugs, glasses, pans, cooking utensils, and even a sandwich maker.
These donations will play a vital role in supporting individuals and families in need living in temporary accommodation, new tenancies, and community centers across Greater Manchester, ensuring they have the necessary tools to prepare healthy, home-cooked meals.
Cracking Good Food’s Kitchen Kit Call Out has made remarkable strides since its inception, redistributing 8.1 tonnes of pre-loved kitchen equipment back into the community. This initiative has not only supported over 19,000 community members and groups but has also made a significant environmental impact, saving 95.5 tonnes of embodied carbon emissions from ending up in landfill.
"We’re incredibly proud to support Cracking Good Food and their inspiring work," said Rachel Moors, Managing Director at Adamsons. "Our team and customers have come together to help provide essential kitchen tools to those who need them most. This initiative not only supports individuals and families in need but also aligns with our commitment to sustainability by giving pre-loved items a new lease on life."
Tracey Torley, Director at Cracking Good Food, said: “The redistributed kitchen items play a vital role in helping people, especially those emerging from crises, to establish new homes and set themselves up for successful, long-term tenancies. By diverting items destined for landfill, this initiative not only helps to break down barriers to accessing and cooking food but also makes a significant environmental impact.”
