A man has been rushed to hospital after an incident in Ashton that saw the air ambulance land in the town centre.
Paramedics touched down on Bentinck Street car park this morning, between Ashton Primary Care Centre and Park Parade, while eyewitnesses saw police and an ambulance at the foot of the canal bridge at nearby Portland Basin Museum.
A police spokesperson told the Reporter that GMP were at the scene to support the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) after what they described as a 'medical emergency'.
A police van was still at the scene at 1pm.
We have approached NWAS for a statement.
