Oldham Council has welcomed a £228,000 cash boost to recover Foxdenton Hall in Chadderton as part of the first phase of the restoration programme.

Pennine Mencap - a local charity that provides opportunities for adults with learning disabilities in the community - has been rehearsing for an ambitious show ever staged by its Stage Right Performing Arts group.

The police tactical dog unit is making more arrests thanks to a major expansion including a digital detection dog and a team of rescue dogs being trained for frontline policing.
