Stoneleigh Park in Derker was alive with activity this week as officers from Operation Vulcan joined local families for a community event aimed at bringing residents together during the school holidays.

The former site of two notorious schools could soon be transformed into a brand new neighbourhood in Oldham. Developers Rowland Homes plan to turn land off Butterworth Lane, once home to South Chadderton School and the Collective Spirit School, into almost 150 new homes. 

A councillor in Oldham has expressed outrage after a carved wooden hedgehog was allegedly ‘stolen’ from a Groundwork depot. The chainsaw statue was due to be installed as part of a nature trail in Lees.
