Dave Sweetmore's blog - Thursday 8th May 2025

This Saturday May 10th will see the return of Manchester's favourite annual unsigned music event, the 'After All Festival'.

The all-day live music event is promoted by popular man about town Owen Meikle Williams and will see three of the city's favourite grassroots music venues play host to a huge line up of local unsigned bands.

The After All Festival takes place at Gulliver's, which will host the 'Main Stage', The Castle, which will be home to the 'Acoustic Stage, and The Peer Hat, where the 'Everything Else Stage' can be found.

One ticket will gain entry to all venues, and bands and artists playing this year include Atlas, Shade, Concrete Club, The Marbs, The Falls, The Bliss, Breeze, Sugar For The Bee, Novacane, Precious Ink, Lost & Found, Unit IV, The Radio Addicts, Jacon Reddy, Mora, Adam Howarth, Nick Tudor, The Information Highway, Jonny Blade, Zeny Bux, Evie Rey, Nick Shane, Molly Andrew, The Click Clacks, Michael Welton, Idyllic, Feather Trade, Woman You Stole, Intelligence Of Plants, Layaway, Transmission Suite, Idle chord, Autumn Killers, Dig Up Her Bones, Soul Shayka, Sample Text and Tram Sandwich.

The annual festival which has now been running for the last few years has become one of the most respected new music festivals on the UK unsigned live event calendar, and with so much new music to discover on the day, it is impossible not to find a few new bands or artists to add to your collection.

I have hosted and DJ'd at the festival for the last few years but sadly am unable to be there this year due to other work commitments, but I can guarantee it is a brilliant day.

As a fan of new music, it's a fun and important day for bands and fans of new music, and I highly recommend being there this Saturday if you are a fan of live unsigned music.

All day tickets are available on Fatsoma, and this year's event is once again supported by RGM Magazine.

Doors at all venues open at 12pm, and I'd like to wish Owen and his team all the best for what will without a doubt be another amazing day.

Long Live the After All Festival! Have a great day if you are going.

On Monday night, (July 7th), it was the end of an era for me as I hosted my last weekly show on Tameside Radio. The show has been on the radio at various stations for over a decade, almost a quarter of my life, and it was a really hard decision to leave.

During Spring, I worked on a huge UK tour with legendary British singer Paul Young. The tour was a theatre tour, with Paul telling some of his life stories in intimate settings, stories from a remarkable career which has lasted over forty years, as one of the UK’s biggest and most loved singer songwriters.
