Victoria Hall ‘Heritage Open Days’

Tuesday, 16 September 2025

Time
13:00 - 15:00

Glossop’s much-loved Victoria Hall is once again opening its doors for ‘Heritage Open Days’ events, marking its sixth year of participation in the national celebration. The Grade II listed building, famed for its unique architecture and rich history, has become a thriving hub for arts, community and social events - and this September, locals and visitors alike are invited to join in a packed programme of activities.

This year’s national theme is ‘Architecture’ and visitors to Victoria Hall will have the chance not only to admire the building’s historic features but also to explore exciting plans for its phased refurbishment.

Working in partnership with Glossop Heritage Trust, Glossop Old Band and The Melandra Project, the Hall has curated a varied line-up of events designed to showcase local talent, history and creativity:

  • Tuesday 16th September 1pm-3pm: A ‘crafternoon’ of collage and cake invites participants to be inspired by artist Betty Dewey’s work and create their own image of Victoria Hall for future display.

  • Thursday 18th September 7pm-10pm: Glossop Old Band returns for an evening of golden oldies, with a heritage quiz in the interval. Entry is free, with donations shared between the Hall and the Band. A licensed bar will be available.

  • Sunday 21st September 10am-3pm: The ever-popular Vintage Fair makes a welcome return, offering stalls packed with vintage clothes, books, ceramics, antiques and collectables. Entry is free.
