A popular singer and entertainer from Oldham who held an event to remember victims of the Manchester Arena attack in 2017, which over two thousand people attended, has decided to host a similar event at Royton Park, and is looking for bands and artists who would like to perform on the day.
Keeley Berry is hosting ‘FrankiFest’, a day which will raise money and awareness for the ‘Frankie and Neeve RSA (Road Safety Academy). The academy was set up after 38-year-old Frankie Jules-Hough, who was pregnant and has two children, was killed along with her unborn child Neeve by a speeding motorist on the M66 in May 2023.
Frankie had been an actress in Hollyoaks, playing the character ‘Jess Holt’ between 2000 and 2001, and was a close friend of Keeley’s. The pair became friends in 2008 after watching bands together at Oldham’s former live music venue ‘The Castle’.
The ‘Frankie and Neeve RSA’ was set up with the aim of ‘striving to challenge current attitudes and create new attitudes to make roads safer’. Keeley is a voluntary fundraising coordinator for the cause, and setting up ‘FrankiFest’ seemed like an obvious way to help the cause for Keeley.
‘FrankiFest’ will feature special guests and celebrity appearances. Along with the main stage entertainment, the day will host road safety workshops, fairground rides, food and drink stalls, and much more.
Keeley is looking for a whole variety of acts to take place, from bands and solo artists to DJs and choirs. The day really will be an event with something for everybody, all in aid of an amazing cause. It is hoped that the day will attract hundreds of local people, and create a great day for the community, along with raising awareness for the Frankie and Neeve’s Road Safety Academy.
To find out more about the cause, you can find ‘Frankie and Neeve RSA’ on Facebook. If you would like to be involved as an act, or help out on the day, or you know someone who may be interested, you can email Keeley at keeleydberry@outlook.com, or call her on 07493 913 098.
FrankiFest 2025 takes place at Royton Park on Saturday August 2nd between 2pm and 9pm, for more information visit the ‘Franki Fest’ event page on Facebook. Good luck to Keeley and everybody involved for what will be a memorable day, please help and support if you can.
