Manchester Academy’s now legendary ‘A Tribute To Manchester’ annual Christmas bash will this year celebrate its 10th anniversary, with The Clone Roses once again headlining the main Academy One stage.

The night has become affectionately known as ‘Manchester’s Christmas Night Out’ over recent years by both Clone Roses fans and the city’s music fans, with a sell-out crowd always guaranteed.

The event this year, which was announced last week, will take place on Friday December 5th, and alongside The Clone Roses, the night will feature sets from hugely respected and long established Oasis and Smith’s tributes ‘Oasish’ and ‘The Smiths Ltd’.

I will be DJing on the night and joining me for a very special DJ set will be Stone Roses hero and iconic bass player Gary ‘Mani’ Mounfield, who became one of the cities most loved musicians during the 1980s, playing on both Stone Roses albums after joining the band in 1987. He has also toured with Primal Scream and Ocean Colour Scene amongst others and named The Clone Roses ‘The second best Stone Roses in the world’.

As part of the night, there will also be an unseen Stone Roses exhibition in the Academy, featuring a huge array of the bands memorabilia, including clothing worn at the legendary Spike Island gig which took place 35 years ago.

After the show finishes in Academy One at 11pm, there will be an afterparty in Club Academy until 2am, featuring Inspiral Carpet’s hero Clint Boon. ‘A Tribute To Manchester’ is always one of the highlights of the gig calendar and follows a sold-out show by The Clone Roses at Manchester’s O2 Ritz last month.

Tickets are on sale now from the Manchester Academy and Clone Roses websites, this event is guaranteed to sell out. Don’t miss Manchester’s best Christmas night out on Friday December 5th at Manchester Academy. See you there!
